Objectives

General objective

The objective of the project is to encourage the cooperation between Europe, Latin America and Africa, promoting youth initiatives in the field of responsible tourism, through the implementation of circular economy principles in the handicraft sector, as a strategy for sustainable development and economic growth in vulnerable communities.

The project specifically seeks:

  • To train young workers (through formal and non-formal approach) with key competencies and practical skills that increase their employment opportunities, promote their entrepreneurship and increase their spirit of innovation so that they can develop initiatives aimed at the development of a responsible tourism model.
  • To organize transnational training seminars and capacity building development events in which have the exchange of good practices, with the intention of improving youth work in partner countries in business activities linked to alternative forms of tourism.
  • To create new models in the field of responsible tourism, through the exchange of good practices, which can be applied in different international contexts.
  • To provide the young people with alternative strategies in order to valorize the handicraft sector as a tool of economic growth and sustainable development of local communities.
  • To support European and non-European youth workers so that they can identify their local assets and develop initiatives aimed at their valorization, as a symbol of identity and cultural legacy, with the aim that these represent an opportunity for employment and economic growth in their communities.
  • To train young people in the use of new technologies as an instrument for the promotion of their local assets and the creation of synergies between the different actors of the tourist activity at the local level.
  • To create a space (both real and virtual) for young people to put their creativity into practice, developing innovative tourism offers based on collective responsibility, through the creation of capacities for the design of alternative business models and sustainable entrepreneurial solutions from the environmental and socio-cultural point of view.
  • To create collaborative networks, providing technical knowledge and assistance to young workers to connect them with experts from the tourism sector and companies related to it.
  • To promote the use of ICTs as a key factor in the three pillars of sustainable development: economic development, social integration and environmental protection.
  • To increase the income of the local population not only by generating jobs in the tourism sector, but also through the diversification of economic activities presented in the areas.
